CROSSROADS Windsor & Maidenhead is delighted to thank HEATHROW COMMUNITY TRUST for its generous grant of £22,500. This money has enabled us to purchase a brand-new, wheelchair-accessible Renault Trafic van for the use of staff and clients in the local area.
As the country eases out of the enforced isolation of Covid restrictions, our new vehicle allows CROSSROADS to help disabled people re-engage with vital appointments, community groups, day trips and holidays – all of which are essential for physical and mental well-being.
“It’s fantastic!” said Sue, from All Saints Church, where our local Windsor & Maidenhead office is based. We at CROSSROADS are proud to confirm her statement – and immensely grateful to Heathrow Community Trust’s COMMUNITIES TOGETHER programme for awarding us the grant, enabling CROSSROADS to provide such an asset to the local community.
CROSSROADS fund-raising manager, Andrew Clarkson, said, “Without the grant we would still be a long way off getting a new vehicle. Many of our service users live in rural areas that are not well-served by public transport, so this minibus gives them the chance to get out and about.”
Our new 8-seater minibus was supplied and converted by Gowring’s Versa Mobility of Thatcham.
